How do I use the ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint scanner?
Once you have set up a secure screen lock such as a pattern, PIN, or password, you can set up a fingerprint scan for unlocking your phone. To add your fingerprints, follow these steps:
- From the main screen, slide the screen up.
- Tap the "Settings" icon.
- Locate and tap "Biometrics and security."
- Tap "Fingerprints."
- Enter your current pattern, PIN, or password. Tap "Next."
- The position of the in-screen fingerprint scanner will be displayed on your screen. Place your finger on the sensor and follow the prompts on your screen.
- You will be prompted to scan your whole fingerprint. Tap "Continue."
- To scan additional fingerprints, tap "Add" or "Add fingerprint." Otherwise, tap "Done."
- Note: When finished, you will be prompted to back up your PIN, Pattern, or Password. Tap "Agree" to back up your secure screen lock, or tap the screen to skip this step.
- Options for face recognition will automatically be selected. To disable these options, tap the sliders to the "Off" position as needed.
